About the Charity
Although we are involved in many ventures and projects, by far, one of our Important priorities is charity. There is nowhere we deploy that charity more than at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The Royal Children’s Hospital is a top-tier hospital that provides a wide range and variety of medical and clinical services. These services range from tertiary health care and medicine, prevention services, and much more, focusing on adolescents and Children. Located in Victoria, it serves the people of the state and neighbouring states and areas. These include New South Wales and Tasmania and indeed other states in Australia and the general Oceania continent. Many people still come from overseas.
By far one of the oldest hospitals globally, the Royal Children’s Hospital was set up as far back as 1870, although it was first established in a different location. However, in 1963, it moved to its current location at Parksville, Melbourne. Currently, the hospital houses 250 beds. Although roughly 280,000 patients pass through the hospital’s treatment every year, about 32,000 of them are treated in-house.
With a particular focus on paediatric medicine, the hospital specialises in providing thorough clinical services to solve all forms of children’s medical and healthcare needs.
However, in its quest to solve children’s medical challenges, it goes beyond the mere provision of health services to engage in and conduct research around critical health issues facing the younger population. Internationally, it is acknowledged as a top Institution for medical and health research.
In achieving these medical goals, the hospital has entered into partnerships with the best Institutions in medical research. Particularly, it is in Partnership with those in academia having become affiliated with institutions such as the Latrobe University and the University of Melbourne.
In recognition of its work, the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, which the Rupert Murdoch family donated, is located in the hospital and attracts regular family funding.
The number of breakthroughs and discoveries made by the Royal Children’s Hospital people testify to its prowess as a leading Institution. For instance, its scientists were the first to discover that the rotavirus caused gastroenteritis. An EEG system for monitoring that has been applied in surgical programs in Australia and all over the world was developed in the hospital. It is also a global leader in cardiac and bone marrow transplantation.
With all of the remarkable work being done at the Royal Children’s Hospital, we firmly believe that this is one institution that deserves all the kinds of support that it can get from whatever section of society.
Although we are not experts in medicine or health sciences, we still believe that there are ways to be of utmost value to the amazing institution. One of such far-reaching ways is to raise funding for the hospital. To fund its work and the amount of research being carried out, the institution needs substantial funding.
Thus we have made it our aim to raise funding for research, scholarship programs, and top-of-the-range medical equipment.
